Another Resident to the Cupertino City Council, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Cathy Helgerson, resident and citizen of Cupertino speaks to the Cupertino City Council encouraging the members to take the initiative and Lead in resolving the current impasse regarding the vacant and desolate Vallco Mall. She strongly advocates for the Council to bring back the parties to a negotiating table so that we, the residents, are not left holding the bag after this Initiative impasse. You can view her testimony to the Council here: https://youtu.be/s9kCmXllsmk We a

Is there a WALL going up around our City?

Are Cupertino’s self appointed gatekeepers saying “keep out?” Have decades of project after project rejection by citizens’ groups built a virtual wall around Cupertino? It’s perceived that Cupertino approved Apple Campus 2 without providing housing, traffic mitigation and other infrastructure needed to support expansion, effectively pushing the burden onto neighboring cities of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose and Mountain View. Many Cupertino insiders are concerned that forc

CCC - Please Lead - Unite Cupertino and Find a Solution!

At the most recent Cupertino City Council meeting on January 26, 2017, resident and author, Sabrina Rizk, gave testimony to the Council that their public service and dedication to the City is acknowledged and recognized by many more members of the community than are represented when a small vocal group comes to bully and intimidate the Council. https://youtu.be/7cQ9N5Wken8 We applaud your very heart-felt and honorable testimony and thank you for encouraging our Council such t

WE CALL ON LIANG CHAO TO DENOUNCE THE POLITICAL RETRIBUTION SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST HER OPPONENT!

There is an online personal & political retribution smear-campaign promoted by Better Cupertino against Anjali Kausar, school board member who opposed Liang Chao, newly elected school board member in the general election on both NextDoor, Change.org, and other social media sites. The allegations are completely false and the proponents of this action are 100% tied to the Liang Chao / Better Cupertino election campaign. Furthermore, Liang Chao knows the people organizing this s

    Warning: Be Careful Cupertino

Cupertino is economically dependent on one employer -- Apple, Inc. This is the result of the corporate headquarters being located in Cupertino at the continued insistence of Steve Jobs while he was living and a favorable tax sharing arrangement with Cupertino. Steve Jobs, 'we pay our taxes, it is up to you as to how you spend them.' In the event Apple, Inc. were to relocate their headquarters; what do you believe the consequences of this would be for our city? How many of you

Suffering from 'Vallco Traumatic Stress Disorder?'

A substantial portion of Cupertino now suffers from a post-election flare-up of the syndrome clinically known as Vallco Traumatic Stress Disorder (VTSD). By far the most common symptom of VTSD is the uncontrollable urge to write opinion letters, or post on Nextdoor and other social media about the election and Vallco specifically. Many patients also present the symptom of an overwhelming desire to make a single-occupancy drive to Valley Fair, Stanford Shopping Center or the G

BC Contraditions - More Citizens want The Hills at Vallco Back at City Council

More comments as expressed in different threads on Cupertino's Next Door Social Media "It's frustrating to read all the contradictions in regards to what people want out of Vallco: 1. Don't want traffic, but want a mall like Valley Fair. Have you guys seen how backed up traffic is on the 880 with shoppers? I would argue residential and office space would be less traffic than a world class mall. 2. Don't want concrete jungle with 40ft walls, but want a Santana Row. Not sur

Bring Back The Hills to City Planning!

United Cupertino has been receiving daily private messages from supporters who have a message for the City Council - to lead our City and resolve the Vallco impasse after the election. Here are some of the notes we've received. "I'm all for a new Vallco and continue to support The Hills project. It needs to go through the standard City Council and Planning Commission processes that all projects are required to do. No more ballot box city planning as propose by Measure C. No M
